Anat's Birthday Exhibition

Sep 14th, 1981. I am 7 years old. my mama’s hand extended from nowhere to protect me from setting my hair on fire, to prevent me from jumping into my own birthday cake. Sep 14th, 2009 I turned 35. That is 5 times this birthday girl.

I spent my 35th birthday in a vacant
store front gallery in Chelsea, NY, and invited friends, artists, family and random passerby's to come by throughout the day, deliver a birthday offering, blessing, hug or song and celebrate with me. Guests & offerings were documented and displayed in the gallery as part of the Birthday Exhibition and the reception took place later that night.

Anat's Birthday Exhibition is a collaboration with artist Abby Robinson who photographed the guests, Marisa Ledesma who baked my cake, Alic Trossman who documented the event, various artist and friends that contributed Birthday offerings, and random passerby's who happened to stop by. Thank You. Special thanks to Asher Remy Toledo and Manon Salome from No longer Empty for enabling the Space for this project.

The Project includes the following folders:
Guests, Offerings, Display, Album, Cake and Wish.

For many more,
Anat
